Founded in 2015, Lupum - or “wolf” in Latin - is the first and only farmhouse brewery in Portugal. Born as an experiment in the cellars of Antonio Lopes' family farm, the moniker was inspired by the founder's family name, meaning “son of wolf.” A laboratory technician turned mad scientist, Antonio began with a singular goal - to brew what he loved, and to brew it well.
Nestled within the hills of the Douro River in the quiet parish of Avintes, just minutes inland from the infamous wine cellars of Porto, Lupum continues to stay true to its wild DNA: strong beers with a daring twist for the adventurous of heart, a work of love with total irreverence for the mandates of convention. Audentes fortuna iuvat - fortune favors the bold - and discovery belongs to those who seek it.
