Lazy Harry’s Bar and Grill is a local landmark. For years, people from far and wide have been coming to Lazy Harry’s to enjoy the fun atmosphere, the great food and drinks, and the Colorado River.
Loretta Fowler, the owner, bought Lazy Harry’s back in September 2001 after retiring from Pioneer Electronics in Carson, CA, where she was the Corporate Facilities Manager.
Over the years, the building and property (once known as Sunshine Marina) have served many purposes, including serving as a piano bar, beauty salon, community pool, boat gas station and marina, and host to the infamous Sunshine Marina Drag Boat Races. With the help of her son, RJ, and daughter, Denielle, Loretta has returned Lazy Harry’s back to its original glory as one of the premier ‘watering holes’ in Bullhead City.
Today, Lazy Harry’s is the host of the World Famous River Float and is the home of the kickoff party and auction for the Arizona Veterans’ Chili Cook-Off. It is also the entrance to the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial that is situated on the peninsula between the marina and the river. Lazy Harry’s also provides a stage for some of the best local bands around.
