Burnside’s Tavern opened in February 2013 and is located on Historic 6th Street between Trinity and Neches. Conveniently situated just two blocks from the Austin Convention Center, the establishment is named after one of the worst Civil War Generals, Ambrose Burnside.
”Ambrose Burnside had been the most unfortunate commander of the Army, a general who had been cursed by succeeding its most popular leader and a man who believed he was unfit for the post. His tenure had been marked by bitter animosity among his subordinates and a fearful, if not needless, sacrifice of life. A firm patriot, he lacked the power of personality and will to direct recalcitrant generals."
The interior of Burnside’s Tavern features 5 stunning chandeliers along with portraits of Civil War Generals. If you’re looking for live music, come by Thursday - Saturday between 7p - 10p for live music from local musicians.
Burnside’s Tavern is available to host your next company happy hour, private corporate event, wedding cocktail gathering, birthday party, private event, or bachelor/bachelorette party.
